From Heather’s Blog…

September 25th, 2008 by adrienne

Heather and I went to the same church growing up and when we got into college, the same university. Now we both have little girls who are in that nebulous time frame between one and two years old. (They seem to have the same toys and the same nicknames too!) I really enjoy reading Heather’s blog on a regular basis!

This video is hilarious:

I also have Heather to thank for my new favorite butter ’cause she recommended Kerrygold Butter and made me want to try some too. I must be honest and say that I didn’t really see what the big deal was, but then I tried it on sourdough… YUMMMMMMMMY!!!!!

Hugs and prayers to you Heather!

Blogging about blogs…

September 20th, 2008 by adrienne

I thought it would be fun to share some of the blog posts I read this morning. Starting from the bottom of my google reader list, and again, this is only the new posts I read this morning. I do have many more blogs that I follow. ;)

Chautona posted a new chapter in her serial story about Willow Finley… I heart Willow. As with all of Chautona’s characters, normal me can identify with, and love, them to bits!

Natalie (one of the missionary wives from GCC) posted about birthday parties.

Abraham Piper (the hubby half of my favorite “hubby/wife bloggers”) wished his wife, Molly, a very happy fifth anniversary.

Lauren posted about almost losing her thumb drive and car clicker in the washer. As a Geek’s wife I can definitely relate as I said in my comment…

The flash drives will actually survive at least two full washes. Not sure about the keys though. Oh, and the smart cards with the little metal pieces will go though THREE washes *and* dry cycles and still work. The id badges with the metal pieces will go at least one wash, but then will make lots of noise in the dryer so you can take it out before it fries.

Melissa won a really cool diaper bag!

Mo’s son, Calvin, had a very interesting dinner conversation with his daddy last night. No, I haven’t listened to the whole thing yet since i don’t want to wake up Munchkin…

Reese Kostjuk, this little girl I asked for prayer for a couple weeks ago, is doing much better. She really enjoyed a balloon from her big sister yesterday! Please continue to pray for this little girl, she still has a LONG way to go to get out of the woods.

Reading blogs is so much fun! What blogs have you read today?

Serial Stories

September 8th, 2008 by admin

I’m sure there are lots of these things online, but I know of two. Basically it’s a blog where the authoress (or author as the case may be) post the new chapters of their story as they write them. It’s a fun way to read a book without getting carried away and neglecting your other duties. Of course, that only works if you don’t read more than one at a time. ;)

From my favorite authoress: Fairbury Tales (a.k.a. “Willow”) Use this link if you’re just starting and want to read from the beginning! Use the first one for your google reader so you can be notified when a new chapter is posted!

From someone I’ve never read before, but am enjoying thoroughly: A Fine Young Lady

I hope you enjoy them! If you’re a dedicated follower of another serial story, please do share the link, but please, please make sure it’s appropriate content that is not dishonoring to the Lord. :)

Costco is selling cloth diapers: Bumkins AIO 6 pack. It’s not the kind I use, but they do have them!

Another recipe from Pioneer Woman: Summer Recipe! I have the stuff in my fridge as we speak!

Easy Peach Cobbler: I made this over the weekend with apricots, peaches and plums (translation all the fruit left over from the farmer’s market on Wednesday) and used chocolate cake instead of white and it was good!

Here’s a cool story: Sick Orphan Baby Finds Family in the Hospital

Here’s a funny spoof blog: Noah’s Ark Blog

No more Mexican food for me this summer: Tomatoes are clear, but Jalapeno and Serrano peppers are suspect I will say that further research clarified that it’s only the peppers grown and processed in Mexico. The ones from the US are find, also, as long as you COOK them to kill potential samonella (like chicken or eggs) you’ll be fine… or so they say. Bummer. I love salsa and who wants to have it cooked? BLECH.
